staten island , [/font][/center]staten island is the most suburban in character of the five boroughs of new york city. connected to brooklyn by the verrazano-narrows bridge, it provides one of the most popular tourists attractions in the city; the staten island ferry. it provides a perfect, unsurpassed view of the statue of liberty, ellis island, and lower manhattan. it has many trails to walk on, numerous parks to tour and visit, and south beach, which is surrounded by a record holding two and a half mile boardwalk. if you're looking to enlighten yourself with the sights of new york city, staten island certainly provides ways and routes to go about that. the locals, though, don't find the tours entertaining anymore. they sometimes visit the parks, especially in the fall when the leaves cover the large spaces of grass, but most don't find entertainment in the ferry trips and statue.
