new york city subway ,

the new york city subway is a rapid transportation system owned by the city itself. it is one of the oldest transportation systems in the world, with over four hundred fifty stations in operation. the plus of using the subway is it's quite quick and saves the people of new york from traffic. it's not the cleanest of places, for those of you who would rather your burberry scarves not attract diseases, but it's cost effective and on the bright side, there's always someone to strike up a conversation with. just be ready to stand.

located in cheektowaga, the buffalo niagara international airport serves over five million passengers a year. it ranks among the five cheapest airports in the country, if you're looking for an inexpensive way to travel out of the state. on the inside, you'll find loads of canadians taking advantage of the inexpensive tax on flights, and overly crowded areas. but at least it's cheap.

the george washington bridge bus station ,

the george washington bridge bus station, located in new york city, isn't necessarily the most luxurious place to start or end your journey, but it serves its purpose. no bus station is necessarily clean, or accommodating in any way, but they do try. you can find the basics for your convenience, atm machines, quick meals, and small stores. the people on the buses themselves are never very friendly, and everything is usually packed full. after all, you're only one of thirteen thousand at the station every day. be ready to encounter some... interesting folks.

staten island ferry ,

some would say the staten island ferry could be romantic. which, in some ways, it could be. what with the statue of liberty passing by in the middle of the staten island to manhattan relaxing ride. not many new york residents take the ferry though, at least not after they've done it once. the ride is more of a tourist attraction; it also passes by ellis island, which some easily entertained see as enlightening. about sixty thousand passengers use the boat daily, and the weekends are especially busy. there are five different ferry boats operating at all times, if that little fun fact interests you.

albany ,

albany, the capital of new york, is often referred to as the crossroads city due to its location; roughly between new york city, montreal, buffalo, and boston. its palace theater and times union center make it a popular place for tourists, not to mention that the knickerbocker makes for a fine musical venue. the new york state museum is a major cultural draw, if that's more your scene, focusing on things such as political and social histories. like in most other new york cities, you'll find many independent shops, coffee houses, restaurants, art galleries, antique shops, bars, and tattoo parlors in albany.

located in the northeast corner of albany county, cohoes is called the spindle city due to its textile production and growth. though much less exciting than its neighboring cities, cohoes is home to the cohoes music hall, lock eighteen enlarged erie canal, and the fonda house. if you're into that sort of old fashioned thing, perhaps you'll find relaxation in this smaller, historical city.

also known as the queen city due to it being the second most populated in the state, buffalo is home to over two hundred fifty thousand people and over fifty art galleries, both private and public. it's home to the albright-knox art gallery and many smaller venues and centers. but more popular than its art galleries, though, are its thriving nightlife districts. the most visible is west chippewa street, having high energy clubs, crowded bars, trendy coffeehouses, and both casual and formal restaurants. many bars feature live music, and the streets have quite a few trendy boutiques. buffalo plays a part in developing many mainstream artists, but is also known for its underground scene. last call is at four am, rather than the two am curfew in most other places.

brooklyn is well known for its social and ethnic diversity. usually a neighborhood those raised with a silver spoon in their mouths would avoid, the independent art scene thrives alongside the distinct neighborhoods and large downtown area. it features a beachfront, surprisingly, and was established as one of the earliest amusement grounds in the country. not generally the classiest place to be, but it certainly does provide an experience.

the embassy suites new york ,

the embassy suites new york is in the center of new york city, at the heart of it all. those who want a nice, accommodating and luxurious place to stay find themselves sliding their daddy's credit card at the front counter, or signing that pretty little surname on the dotted line. even those without a tab at the embassy are willing to spend everything for a night in the middle of the crossroads; the location is key, and the treatment is to die for. the rooms are large and wonderful, the service is incredibly good, and the free plush robes are worth the cost of it all.

queens ,

the most ethnically diverse county in the united states, queens does seem to have a lot in common with brooklyn, minus, perhaps, brooklyn's devotion to the arts. historically, queens is a collection of villages and towns. however, recently, it has become known for its dominant middle and lower class population. queens is home to the new york mets, and annually hosts the us open tennis tournament. almost all neighborhoods are biased and ruled by a certain race, and the income rate isn't anything to be proud of.

here is undoubtedly where the aspiring holly golightlys of the state take refuge. of course money is a necessity to survive life on the upper east side, which you'll eventually be reminded of by the wealthy and fortunate youth, complete with eight fendi purses and a silver lexus. it is the neighborhood with the most expensive real estate in the united states, and some of the loveliest penthouses you'll ever lay eyes on. it's the people that dwell on the inside, though, that make for the best sort of attraction. numerous museums can be found in the area, along with the finest boutiques, shops, restaurants, and everything else, for that matter.

rochester is the forth largest city in new york. south of lake ontario, its metropolitan area is the second largest in the state. impressive, if that were to matter. also known as the world's image center, loads of people dwell inside the popular rochester. be sure to try the city's specialty, a hot dog called the white hot, practically handed out by vendors. the eastview mall makes for good shopping, at least amongst those who can handle stepping somewhere besides saks fifth avenue. also a place that seems to revolve around business, rochester is home to many big companies and guys in business suits.

anyone who wishes to spend their vacation the right way knows that the hamptons are the place to be. located on long island, the hamptons usually attract fans in the summer months, though some simply cannot stay away no matter the time of year. usually, most vacationers are those with money to spend and time to waste doing absolutely nothing. however, some would argue that a day at the spa, the accommodating golf club, or just the club is a day of work on its own.

jersey city is located in hudson county. which is, obviously, in the state of new jersey. however, considering it's a short jaunt across the river from lower manhattan, the city attracts loads of vacationing and visiting new yorkers. it's said to be a major manufacturing center, but we all know the people of new york know how to spice things up, even when they're not in their home state. jersey city is a rough place, though considered a cheaper version of new york city if you can handle the danger, violence, and controversial actions and language. with tons of organized crime, jersey city is... an experience, to say the least.

the hyatt regency ,

the hyatt regency jersey city on the hudson river provides easy access to new york city. that is its selling point, to be honest, considering new york is the real attraction. it's elegant, though, which accommodates its high class guests well, and provides a lovely first class experience for those who don't normally live a pampered life. the food is great here, and the rooms are luxurious. the hudson river can be seen, along with the statue of liberty, for those who don't feel like waiting the eighteen hours to see the mossy-green massive woman and would rather peek from your window.
